The exhibition Wild Sofia - Birds will be held in the Open Air Gallery in the park in front of the NDK (National Palace of Culture) from July 18 to August 15, 2023. The official opening will take place on July 18 at 1:00 p.m. .
The exhibition Wild Sofia - Birds is a continuation of a theme presented for the first time by the Regional History Museum - Sofia in 2020. A collective of photographers and artists presents familiar and beloved animals, ones that everyone has probably met, and also rarely noticed, secretive, nocturnal, whimsical inhabitants of the big city.
The focus is on one of the most important and eloquent indicators of the quality of life in a given city – the presence and diversity of birds. Every tree cut down, every bush removed, replaced by smooth lawns, means less shelter and less food for Sofia's birds. A richly landscaped or even sometimes seemingly neglected yard is actually home to many birds. Every tree in the yard, every pot of flowering plants on the balcony contributes to the preservation and enrichment of wildlife in our city.
