Exhibition Plastdemia - The seas and oceans also need a vaccine

From June 21 to July 5, 2021, the National Museum of Natural History at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences presents a poster exhibition dedicated to the fight against plastic pollution in the Open-Air Gallery of Sofia Municipality - Crystal Garden.Plastic is now an integral part of our daily lives and is almost inevitable for many people, and limiting it is often a difficulty in changing already established habits. What makes plastic useful is exactly what makes it harmful: it is sustainable. At the same time, the smaller a plastic particle, the more organisms can absorb it. In this way, the microplastic is transmitted from organism to organism throughout the food chain, with the largest amount accumulating in the predator at the top of the pyramid of the respective ecosystem, and most often it is man.
