Whether you're wandering the banks of the Danube, climbing to the top of Buda Castle, or sipping coffee in a cozy café, Budapest is the kind of city that surprises and delights at every corner.
What immediately caught my attention was the architecture. The buildings in Budapest are stunning, with ornate facades, grand boulevards, and elegant bridges that reminded me of Paris. From the majestic Hungarian Parliament Building to the historic Andrassy Avenue, the city offers a visual feast for lovers of classical and art nouveau design. It's a photographer’s dream and a history buff’s paradise.
Buda: My Favorite Part of Budapest
While Budapest is divided by the Danube River into two distinct areas—Buda and Pest—my favorite was definitely Buda.
Buda is the hilly, quieter side of the city. It has a more relaxed and calm vibe compared to the bustling Pest. I especially loved climbing up to Buda Castle, with its panoramic views of the river and the Pest skyline. The narrow cobblestone streets, charming staircases, and historic buildings create a magical atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another century.
Buda isn’t just scenic—it’s peaceful. It’s a perfect place to take your time, get lost in the streets, and enjoy the slower rhythm of life away from the tourist crowds.
One of the things I truly appreciated about Budapest is how multicultural it felt. The city attracts tourists from all over the world, and you can hear a mix of languages on every street corner. This diversity brings a vibrant energy to the city and makes it feel very open and international.
Despite its deep historical roots, Budapest feels modern, inclusive, and welcoming—a city that embraces the past while celebrating the present.
